February 2020 Update

As associate regional coordinators for Europe and the Middle East, Nate and Stacy will be working alongside Regional Coordinators Patrick and Jamie Nachtigall as together they help connect, encourage, and resource the Church of God throughout the region. Nate and Stacy will have a particular emphasis on church planting and church health, walking alongside pastors and leaders in the region connected through the EuropeX church network.(Excerpt from www.chogglobal.org/team/nstatman/)

Family Update

Nate, Stacy, Daleska, and Emily had a video call last week with the director of the school the girls will be attending in order to begin their enrollment process. The school is a small, English-speaking Christian school that is similar to (although much smaller than) Lakewood Park, where the girls currently attend.

While we had quite a few questions answered on the call, we’re all REALLY looking forward to a visit to the school during our spring break site visit to Madrid! We will be traveling to Spain in March to complete the school admissions and testing process for the girls, to look at housing options, to work through some logistics regarding our visa process, and to get an overall feel for what life in Spain will be like.

Our recent weeks have been a roller coaster of emotions as we’re each wrapping our minds around the coming transition, and we’re so thankful for your prayers as we process it all!

Fundraising Update

We made it to 50% pledged ongoing support! 🙂

With our anticipated departure date quickly approaching, we have a goal of hitting another 10% mark by the end of every month through June. The 50% mark was our end-of-January goal, and we hit it at the very beginning of February!

Currently, we’re a little over 52% pledged and have just seven days left in this short month. If you’ve been considering coming on as an ongoing financial partner, we would so appreciate the needed boost to get us to 60% pledged by the end of February!

As we’ve mentioned before, pledges can be made for any amount, frequency, and start date. Let us know if you have any questions at all!

Thank you for your continued support and encouragement….we have confidence that the Lord has every detail worked out and will get us there in network with His body of believers!

Ministry Update

Earlier this month, Nate had the opportunity to travel to Russia to work with a local church. Although there were too many highlights to write about in this space, there was one common theme throughout the trip – the church and its pastors are unified around the central idea that working together as one church in four locations is the best way to move forward.

In some ways it would be easy for these four churches to function as separate congregations. However, in a secular, post-Christian culture the positives for church collaboration and unity far outweigh the negatives. One church in four locations provides a distinct advantage as the church grows throughout this large city. Church leaders have a dream to plant a campus in each of the city’s ten districts. With many residents living and working within their own district, having a campus in each district makes it easier for people to attend church.

Our primary responsibility in our new role will be visiting with churches and pastors like this one in Russia. We are so thankful for your continued partnership with our family as it allows us to come alongside the local church globally, helping to prepare the church for the future.
